Introductory Volleyball modules

The Volleyball Modules have been designed for anyone wanting to upskill in grassroots development and gain an understanding of the Volleyball landscape in Australia. Whether you are a seasoned volleyball coach or someone who has never played the game, the most important thing about grassroots volleyball is being able to adapt and modify to all environments and end users.

Light Volley is a concept that uses Volleyball skills and game play to engage and excite participants about being physically active in a safe and inclusive environment. Light Volley uses modified equipment and game play combined with facilitators who are prepared and able to create exciting and interesting physical activity sessions introducing modified entry-level volleyball.

Spikezone is Volleyball Australia’s entry-level Volleyball program for kids aged between 5 and 13. Spikezone Centres run both Learn to Play courses and competition activities using modified equipment and rules to ensure kids have fun, get active, develop new skills and teamwork.

Alongside this, coaches and instructors will encourage participants' understanding of the importance of being physically active, the link between physical activity and mental health and the importance of nutrition to a healthy lifestyle. The modules aim to provide the knowledge and skills for coaches and instructors. We hope these modules enhance your current skills-sets and give you the confidence to deliver engaging and inclusive Light Volley, Spikezone and Sitting Volleyball programs.
